Wayne County Schools to Offer Free Meals for All Students

The Wayne County School District will implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) starting January 2024, allowing all students to receive free breakfast and lunch without the need for meal applications. This initiative, part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, aims to ensure students are well-nourished and ready to learn by providing nutritious meals at no cost. The program follows USDA guidelines and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal for prior civil rights activity. For more information, parents or guardians can contact the Child Nutrition Program Director.

Online Cafeteria Payments are Now Available

We are please to announce that online payments for our cafeterias are now live on Linq Connect!

Wayne County's participation in the CEP (see above posting) allows for free meals for students, but does not include a la carte or extra items like additional entrees.  To purchase these items, students will still need money in their cafeteria account.

You may visit www.linqconnect.com to create a profile, add your child and manage payments.  Linq Connect has created tutorial videos that may help you as you complete this process.
